A TRAVELLER encampment has moved from the grounds of a primary school to a car park in Denbighshire.
Yesterday (Thursday), the Free Press reported that travellers had pitched up at Ysgol Frongoch in Denbigh.
However, the travellers have now left the site and are currently pitched up on a car park in Ruthin.
A spokesperson for Denbighshire County Council said: “We have received notification of Travellers setting up an unauthorised encampment on Park Road Car Park, Ruthin.
“The group had previously been located at Ysgol Frongoch, Denbigh.
“We will be delivering toilets and bins to the site and we expect the group will leave the site on Monday.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and maintain contact with the group.
“The council’s response is informed by legislation and government guidance on unauthorised Gypsy, Roma & Traveller encampments.”
