NORTH Wales Crusaders’ blistering League 1 form continued as they took advantage of Rochdale Hornets’ poor discipline to record a comfortable 36-10 victory.

It’s now seven wins on the bounce for Crusaders, who are League 1’s in-form team and have won all four of their matches at Stadiwm ZipWorld in front of crowds.

After taking an early 4-0 lead in a tight contest, Rochdale’s discipline went to pot and Crusaders took full advantage of Shaun Robinson’s dismissal for a poor high tackle on Pat Ah Van.

North Wales never let their discipline drop and put in a professional display to see out the match comfortable 36-10 winners.

Rochdale took the lead when, after putting intense pressure on Crusaders’ line, Rangi Chase collected a short ball to cross over.

On the back of Robinson’s red card, however, North Wales replied as Alex Eckley bulldozed his way over the line.

From the kick-off, Crusaders scored the try of the match, with Gav Rodden breaking through the line deep inside his own half and Karl Ashall supplied the final pass to Tommy Johnson.

After being awarded a penalty near the line, the Welshmen opted to kick for goal and Johnson extended the advantage to 14-4.

With half-time fast approaching, North Wales added another as Ah Van profited from some nice play to barge his way over in the right corner.

Crusaders built on their lead early in the second-half when Matt Reid exploited space down the left to stroll in for a simple try.

As Rochdale ideally needed a result at Colwyn Bay for their play-off charge, they repeatedly opted for a short kick-off and put North Wales’ defence under a lot of pressure at times.

They pulled one back through Lewis Sheridan, who took advantage of a Crusaders error from a Rochdale grubber kick to cross.

But the hosts soon responded as Jordy Gibson dummied his way through the line and had the pace to make it to the line.

The match did start to become a little scrappy and Rochdale continued to ask questions of Crusaders’ defence, but the Welsh side grabbed the last points of the match.

Johnson was put through the line 20 metres out and had the speed to round the fullback, leaving himself just 14 points short of 1,500 for North Wales.
