DENBIGHSHIRE’S own footballing star Harry Wilson is off to a flier at his new club.

The 24-year-old was born and raised in Corwen and spent nearly 16 years at Liverpool Football Club, in between loan spell, before securing a permanent move to Fulham in July of this year.

And since making the £12m move to Craven Cottage with the EFL Championship side, Wilson has once again shown what he is capable of.

He followed up a superb goal on his debut v Middlesbrough in a 1-1 draw with another goal in a 3-0 victory over Stoke City on Sunday, making it 2 goals in his first 3 matches for Fulham.

The whites were relegated from the Premier League last season and will be looking to bounce back to the top-flight immediately come the end of this one.

They currently sit top of the EFL Championship table with Wilson proving to be one of their main stars to date.

The Wales international’s switch to Fulham sees him embark on a new chapter in his career, having joined Liverpool at U9 level and progressed through the ranks at the Academy.

A versatile attacker, Wilson achieved a senior debut for his country aged 16 v Belgium in 2013, becoming Wales' youngest ever player in the process, and later captained Liverpool U23s.

His maiden first-team appearance for the Reds came as a substitute in the FA Cup tie with Plymouth Argyle in January 2017, before he enjoyed a series of productive loan spells to gain further experience.

Time with Hull City and then Derby County saw Wilson rack up 23 goals in the Championship, and he subsequently spent 2019-20 with AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Having returned to Liverpool, he played his second senior match under Jürgen Klopp with a start against Arsenal in the League Cup last October.

Wilson then departed on loan again with Cardiff City where he bagged seven more goals in the Championship.

After representing Wales at Euro 2020, and initially joining Liverpool’s Austria pre-season training camp, Wilson now leaves the club to seal a move to Fulham.

He is a former pupil of Llangollen's Ysgol Dinas Bran and often visits Corwen, last doing so just two weeks ago as he posed for pictures with members of Corwen FC.
