A CHARITY in St Asaph is encouraging residents to join them in remembering loved ones this Christmas with their annual ‘Light up a Life’ service.

A number of services will be put on this year by St Kentigern Hospice, which provides care and support for patients with any life-limiting condition and their families.

There will be a ‘Light up a Life’ service held on Friday, December 10 at 6pm in St Asaph Cathedral (maximum capacity of 150 people) and on December 17 at St Peter’s Church in Ruthin (time to be announced).

‘Light up a Life’ gives people a special opportunity to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones in a positive way.

Clinical nurse manager at St Kentigern, Jane McGrath, said: “‘Light up a Life’ is a time for families and friends to come together and to celebrate the lives of those who are special to them.

“Your loved one does not need to have been cared for at St Kentigern Hospice for you to make a dedication at our annual service.”

This year, St Kentigern will display all dedications received in clear baubles on their ‘Tree of Lights’ in the hospice gardens.

The hospice ask for a minimum donation of £3 to be a part of the tree, with the money raised from the dedication baubles continuing to support the palliative care and hospice services, including bereavement counselling.

Your dedication, along with your donation, can be sent to: Light up a Life, St Kentigern Hospice, Upper Denbigh Road, St Asaph, LL17 0RS.

Alternatively, St Kentigern’s online virtual tree of lights will also be available for people to make dedications upon, which can be found here: www.visufund.com/2021-light-up-a-life.
