THERE'S hugely positive news connected to a Vale of Clwyd venue.

After being closed for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Denbigh Museum will reopen its doors this weekend.

The site on Grove Road, in Denbigh, is to reopen this Saturday, May 28 to welcome visitors and coincide with the visit of the Urdd Eisteddfod to the town.

The title of this summer’s exhibition is ‘The Home’ and this will contain an eclectic collection of items relating to the home dating from the 1780s through to the 1960s, demonstrating how people used to live and how they entertained themselves.

Amongst items on view will be material relating to washing and ironing, cheese and butter making, cooking, drinking utensils as well as furniture.

Gwyn Jones, curator of the event, said: "It’s brilliant to be able to reopen the museum to the public again following the misery of the pandemic.

"We sincerely hope that people will enjoy themselves wandering around reminiscing about some items and how we used to live.

"Life has changed so much since the 1950s with so many labour-saving gadgets in existence today.

"Some items on display can only be described as true curiosities and conversation items."

The museum will be open every Saturday between 12 and 4pm, plus Mondays and Thursdays (2-4pm) from May to the end of September.
