THINGS have been getting messy at a Vale of Clwyd club!

Since its meeting before the summer break, Denbigh Floral Art Club held a very successful - if a bit messy - workshop in September.

All the members that attended found it useful and sociable.

The chairman demonstrated three ways to use the dishes supplied, to give ideas, and allowed all members as much foliage as they needed, but only five beautiful roses to work with.

There was much hilarity as the evening progressed and at the end, all arrangements were displayed on a table and the chairman chose the one she liked best.

The winner received a prize and the chairman’s arrangements were raffled, together with a few other prizes donated by members.

Denbigh Floral Art Club will be holding another workshop next year.

Unfortunately, the demonstrator booked as advertised failed to complete her obligation as when contacted the week before the demonstration she told the club that she had retired several months previously and had failed to let the club know!

After numerous telephone calls with no luck, the chairmsn said that she would stand-in and demonstrate for members.

Choosing an autumnal theme, there were some very nice arrangements and she managed to keep all those present well entertained for the evening.

The flowers were beautiful and the accessories were outstanding.

Denbigh Floral Art Club is to host a demonstration entitled “A Christmas Celebration” by Donald Morgan, from Aberystwyth.

This is to be held in Denbigh Town Hall Denbigh on Thursday, November 3.

It should be a very entertaining evening and will set the scene for Christmas.
