GUESTS will get the chance to have their say on a popular annual event based in Denbighshire next week.

The Ruthin Festival committee will be holding its Annual General Meeting at the Old Courthouse at 7.30pm on Wednesday, November 16.

The meeting involves reviewing the 2022 event, the election of new committee officers such as chair and secretary for the coming year, and ideas for the event in 2023.

Committee chair Gwion Tomos said: "Members of the public are very welcome to attend to see how the festival is run.

"Anyone can attend, and would emphasise that no one who attends has to join the committee, although they would be very welcome!"

Ruthin Festival has been taking place in the town since 1994, and involves a week long series of musician and cultural events culminating in the popular Top of Town event at St Peter's Square.

Earlier this year, the week included concerts, craft workshops, plays, poetry sessions, the town carnival and all sorts of events for the entire community to enjoy.

Committee vice chair Jim Bryan added: "We had a great festival in 2022 and now with us looking forward to 2023, we are looking for new committee members willing to help organise and run the festival.

"For example, at the moment we need someone to undertake the festival’s marketing for 2023 and hopefully subsequent years," he added.

The festival committee has already taken the decision that the festival week next year will take place between Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, July 2.
