A big Friday entry with 2,327 prime lambs forward!

SQQ was a pleasing 234.3ppk, while the overall average was 234.4ppk.

Welsh lambs on the day were mostly in the 220s and sharper on the week.

RUTHIN Farmers' Auction reports sales of 73 heifers to £1470; four bulling heifers to £1980; 97 steers to £1650; 24 OTMs to £1586.41 / 224ppk; 12 cows & calves to £1880; 158 calves to £315; 2330 store lambs to £124; 94 breeding ewes to £128; 13 rams to 380gns and 140 weanlings to £90.

All cattle met an excellent trade from start to finish!

A total of 73 heifers topped at £1470 for a 25 month Lim from Mathew Evans, Pwll Pridd.

A firm trade for the time of year.

Top price went to Davies, Prys Mawr selling aged Lim cows with Lim bulls at foot to £1880 with others to £1780 and £1760.

RUTHIN Farmers' Auction reports sales of 2,668 prime lambs to £147 / 305ppk and 478 cull ewes to £180.

Prime lambs (auctioneer-Elfor Morris):

A total of 2,658 lambs forward to a much improved SQQ of 253.8ppk.

Vendors with heavy lambs took advantage of the rise in trade but lambs across the board saw an uplift.

Just over 1,400 medium weight lambs averaging £108/head, with heavier and overweight nearer the £25/head mark.

A tally of 676 standards at 250ppk and lights better on the week at 240ppk.
