THERE will be a festive feel in Denbighshire this weekend.

Gofal Dydd y Waen Day Care, which opened in 2011 and provides free twice-weekly day care for people of all ages living with serious illness, is hoping it will have standing room only at its Christmas market this Saturday, November 19.

It will be held at Waen Chapel, Waen, near St Asaph between 10.30am and 3pm.

This will be the day care's first Christmas market for three years.

A Gofal Dydd y Waen Day Care spokesperson said: "The last Christmas market in 2019 raised £5,500 in much needed funds but due to Covid, fundraising has been very limited and they now need to urgently raise funds to meet the costs of £35,000-a-year and costs are rapidly rising.

"Despite so many challenges due to Covid, the day centre now offers monthly chiropody, music therapy, and complementary therapies - all of which are free to anyone living in the community with serious illness and not limited to those attending the day care.

"At the market there will be lots of stalls including Christmas food, new gifts, Christmas crafts, children's new toys and gifts, Christmas trees and wreaths, handmade soap and candles, Christmas puddings, chocolate tombolas and a very special visit from Father Christmas who will have a sackful of gifts!"
