Earlier this week, Travelodge revealed the 25 most interesting and bizarre customer requests that it’s Welsh hotel teams have received during the last 12 months.

Travelodge has 26 hotels dotted across the length and breadth of Wales and annually welcomes millions of business and leisure customers at its hotels.

And as a result, they have to deal with a lot of strange requests.

Topics have ranged from place names, local dishes, customs and traditions to random requests.

The Wrexham Travelodge was asked if they could help with a child's fractions homework.

Meanwhile, a receptionist at Halkyn Travelodge was asked to record a customer’s voicemail in a welsh accent to sound like Tom Jones.

Elsewhere across North Wales, a panicked groom asked the manager at Llandudno Clarence Travelodge if they could get ordained that very day to officiate his wedding.

A Mother of the Bride staying at Colwyn Bay Travelodge asked the hotel team if they could get it to stop raining immediately as her daughter’s wedding reception was being held outside that afternoon.

Yet perhaps the best of the lot comes from Rhyl Seafront Travelodge, where a customer asked the hotel manager if they could fill the bath in his room with different flavoured scoops of ice cream as a birthday present for his wife’s 40th birthday as it was her favourite food.

Shakila Ahmed, Travelodge Spokeswoman said: “Following a very difficult two years, holidaymakers have taken full advantage this year to enjoy everything they have missed during the pandemic and this includes holidays and business trips.

"We have experienced a significant increase in bookings across our 26 Travelodge hotels in Wales this year, with holidaymakers taking more short breaks and turning a concert or sporting event into a Minication.

"Where possible, our hotel teams will go above and beyond to help customers as they relish a good challenge. However, there are some requests beyond their control such as getting ordained to officiate a wedding, stopping the seagulls from squawking and arranging a photoshoot with The Welsh Dragon."
