A day of Welsh pride! Conwy schoolchildren mark St David's Day 2023
Ysgol Y Foryd had a great time celebrating St David's Day with a school Eisteddfod.
Pupils sang and danced in their school houses and the winning house received a shield.
The children worked hard on their Welsh art and even entered the homework competition for the best Welsh artwork.
At St Brigid's School, Denbigh, the lower school performed beautifully during its "mini Eisteddfod", with the help of Gareth Williams, the Welsh advisory teacher for Denbighshire, who came to celebrate with them.
The children also enjoyed taking part in a range of activities to celebrate the day, including making Welsh Dragon cookies.
At Ysgol Bryn Heddyd, Rhyl, the nursery class were busy making Welsh cakes, enjoying craft and singing Welsh songs.
Reception pupils at Ysgol Emmanuel, Rhyl cooked leek and potato soup, while children in Year Three baked Welsh cakes.
All pupils took part in an in-house Eisteddfod, where each year group competed in a different category, including art, poetry, and design and technology.
All competition entries will be judged next week and a winner will be selected from each category.
Pupils also dressed up appropriately to celebrate the occasion:
As did the pupils at Ysgol Y Llys, Prestatyn:
