RESIDENTS are being invited to share views on proposals for walking, wheeling and cycling improvements in the Vale of Clwyd.

People are being urged to have their say on the proposed improvements to the local walking, wheeling and cycling network in Denbigh.

Denbighshire County Council is currently working with Sustrans Cymru to make local active travel – a term used for journeys with a purpose – in the area accessible, more enjoyable and safer for the whole community, encouraging more journeys to be taken on foot or bicycle instead of by car.

The local authority and Sustrans would like to build upon the information already gained through the engagement work undertaken in 2020/2021 to help shape future improvements in the town.

Sustrans will also be engaging directly with schools in the area to gather pupils’ views on walking, wheeling and cycling to school and beyond.

People who live, work and travel in Denbigh are now being invited to share their thoughts on the proposed improvements, including shared-use paths for pedestrians and cyclists alongside Rhyl Road, Ffordd Colomendy and the A543 leading to St Brigid’s School, improved crossing facilities and the widening and upgrading of existing footpaths.

Residents can share their ideas and feedback by visiting the project website hosted by Sustrans at https://sustrans.info/ActiveTravelDenbigh

The survey will be available online until April 15.

In addition, public drop-in sessions will be held at the Eirianfa Community Centre on March 27 (12-1.30pm and 5-6.30pm).

Paper versions of the consultation can be obtained by contacting Sustrans Cymru by dropping an e-mail to Denbigh@sustrans.org.uk or by writing to Sustrans Cymru, One Canal Parade, Dumballs Road, Cardiff CF10 5BF.
