THE Marble Church in Bodelwyddan will once again play host to a concert of reflective music.
This will take place on Palm Sunday (April 2).
Two North Wales choirs, Hawarden Singers and Côr Cilcain, will come together at St Margaret's Church as well as two accomplished soloists to perform Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light Requiem, the Cantique de Jean Racine by Gabriel Fauré and other pieces chosen specifically for Palm Sunday reflection.
The line up also features organist John Liddon-Few and musical director of both choirs, Malcolm Williams.
Richard Steventon, a member of Hawarden Singers, said: "It is very much a 'home game' for Malcolm as he lives in Bodelwyddan.
"The Hawarden Singers and Côr Cilcain have been working hard for a number of weeks now in preparation for what promises to be a memorable concert.
"Last year both choirs performed JH Maunder’s Olivet to Calvary and five years ago, the audience was treated to Fauré’s Requiem, both at the same venue.
"However it has not been plain sailing," Richard said.
"Amos Williams, from Brynford, was all set to sing solo baritone in 'Eternal Light' but due to sudden illness, he had to step down. A few stressful days followed whilst a search was made for someone to replace Amos. Fortunately, he was able to recommend the accomplished bass baritone Damian O’Keefe who came to the rescue, despite an already busy schedule."

Damian is a soloist and Early Music singer who began his musical career as a choral scholar at St John’s College, Cambridge under Dr George Guest.
Richard added: "As a soloist, Damian performs a wide repertoire from baroque to contemporary music in concert halls, recitals and cathedrals. Recent performances include Haydn’s Creation and Nelson Mass, Handel’s Samson, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater and the Brahms Requiem.
"Damian is thoroughly looking forward to performing the Eternal Light Requiem at St Margaret’s. He will be alongside soprano soloist, Anne Jackson. Anne is a music teacher and performer from Liverpool and a member of The Hawarden Singers, so she is no stranger to singing at this lovely venue."
The concert takes place at St Margaret’s Church, Bodelwyddan on Sunday April 2 at 3pm. Admission is free with a retiring collection.
