OVERNIGHT closures will be coming into place on A5 route roundabouts tonight (April 17).

Essential bridge works are due to be carried out between the A5 Halton roundabout (Chirk) and the A5 Gledrid roundabout (Oswestry).

The work will commence tonight and will last for two nights, lasting between 8pm and 6am.

A full carriageway closure will be enforced during those times, Traffic Wales say.

Traffic travelling south will be diverted to A5 Whitehurst roundabout and will follow the solid black diamond symbolised diversion route through Chirk on the B5070.

Traffic travelling north will be diverted at Gledrid roundabout onto the B5070 and will follow the solid black square symbolised diversion route through Chirk on the B5070.

Traffic will take the 2nd exit on Whitehurst roundabout then re-join the A5 at Halton roundabout.

The works are being carried out overnight when traffic flows are historically lower to minimise disruption.
