The young person was said to be out on a Duke of Edinburgh expedition on the mountain.

The NEWSAR team was deployed to assist North Wales Police and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency with the rescue.

The young person was then evacuated off the hill before being taken to hospital.

A statement from the NEWSAR team read: "We were called out yesterday afternoon by @northwalespolice to assist a young person on a DofE expedition on Llantysilio mountain."
