FOUR attractions in North Wales have been shortlisted for the Welsh Hospitality Awards.

Llandudno Pier, the Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay, Bodnant Garden in the Conwy Valley and the National White Water Centre near Bala have been named as finalists in the category 'Best Day Out in Wales'.

The Welsh Hospitality Awards 2023 are organised and hosted by Creative Oceanic.

Paul Williams, general manager at Llandudno Pier, said: "We are extremely proud to be shortlisted for the Award for Best Day Out in Wales. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to make the Pier the great attraction it is today.

"It truly is a team effort and we thank everyone for their continued support locally."

A spokeperson from the Welsh Mountain Zoo said: “We’re delighted to be featured on the shortlist for the Best Day Out in Wales at the Welsh Hospitality Awards.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the amazing work of the industry across the whole of Wales."

A National Trust spokesperson for Bodnant Garden said: "We’re thrilled to have made the shortlist for Best Days Out and it’s great to see Plas Newydd also making the shortlist for Family Venue.

"Our staff and volunteers work hard throughout the year to give our visitors the best welcome and ensure they have an enjoyable day out. With year-round colour, Bodnant is a haven of rarity and beauty and perfect for a day out with family, friends and four-legged companions.

"We wish everyone the best of luck with the awards.”

The winners will be revealed at a black-tie event in Cardiff this autumn.

A spokesperson for The Welsh Hospitality Awards 2023 said: “Working for the hospitality industry can be challenging at times. These awards aim to recognise those who have succeeded in this sector, despite the difficulties. There are people who have dedicated their whole career to making the country a special destination for visitors. It is time to give these professionals the recognition they deserve.

"The awards will provide a platform to thank and honour those who have contributed to making Wales a friendly and welcoming place, enhancing the country’s reputation nationally and internationally. We would like to congratulate all the finalists for their nomination and wish them the best of luck.”

The National White Water Centre will not be taking part in the awards.
