MEMBERS of the local community will be playing 24-hours of non-stop football to raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance.

Denbighshire Leisure Ltd (DLL) is hosting the 24-hour football match in Ruthin to raise money for a chosen charity and is calling on members of the community to join in.

The marathon match will take place on Ruthin Leisure Astroturf pitch from 11am on Friday, September 1, until 11am on Saturday, and the public are encouraged to come to cheer on the teams or join in with the football with a minimum donation of £3 each.

Jamie Groves, Managing Director of DLL, said: “Come showers or shine we are looking forward to a full 24 hours of football for a great cause!

"As one of DLL’s chosen charities, we’re sure you will agree that the Welsh Air Ambulance is vital to our communities, saving countless lives of those who live around us.

We hope to see as many people as possible taking part across the 24 hours and coming along to support the teams!”

The Wales Air Ambulance Charity provides advance life-saving emergency care for everyone in Wales, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

They are a ‘mobile emergency department’ that relies entirely on donations to keep our helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.
