A COUPLE of teenagers from Prestatyn have started their own window cleaning business in the town.

Marcus Spragg and Ryan Miles, both 19, launched “R&M Windows” a couple of months ago, and are aiming to expand their business in to Rhyl soon.

Originally from Manchester, Marcus gained experience of window cleaning through his dad, and now balances the business with his work as a delivery driver for Domino’s.

He said: “It’s been good so far; we’ve had positive feedback. We started with friends and family, and through word of mouth, our name has spread and we’ve had more and more clients come to us.

“I’ve seen businesses go from nothing to something, and that’s always something I’ve taken a liking to. My dad’s nudged me to start this, telling me that it was good work and it was a nice way to meet new people.

“I was washing cars, and then tried to open a clothing brand, but they didn’t really appeal to me, so I started to clean windows, and just found that it was a friendly atmosphere.”

Marcus, who has also worked as a salesman, said he had long harboured ambitions of starting his own business before setting this up with Ryan.

Through working with his dad, he has gathered between six and 12 months’ experience of cleaning windows, which he finds “good fun”.

People wanting their windows cleaned can get in touch with Marcus by calling 07874 834 780.

He added: “We’re trying to build the team so that we can expand fully, but we’re just trying to get Prestatyn boxed off, then head towards Rhyl, and see where we can take it from it.

“At the moment, it’s only three of us, but we’re looking for more people, as well.

“My dad worked as a window cleaner, so I helped him out now and then. It’s good fun; the difficult part is marketing and getting the clients, but once you’ve got the clients, you treat them like family.”
