A TV SHOW partly filmed in a Flintshire village is expected to hit our screens next year.

Last month, crews had been seen setting up cameras in Pentre Halkyn with several HGV's and filming equipment spotted around the Hen Rake area.

A letter sent out to nearby residents - revealed that Quay Street Productions were filming scenes for TV series 'Dead Hot' in the area.

The comedy thriller has been created and written by Charlotte Coben (The Stranger), who previously worked with Quay Street Productions founder and producer Nicola Shindler on Netflix dramas The Stranger and Stay Close.

So, what can we expect from the series?

Bilal Hasna (Extraordinary) and Vivian Oparah (I May Destroy You) star as the show's protagonists Elliot and Jess, alongside the likes of Penelope Wilton (Downton Abbey) and Peter Serafinowicz (The School for Good and Evil).

The show is said to be set in present-day Liverpool and follows Elliot and Jess, two best friends in their 20s who are united by a bond of grief at losing Peter – the first and only love of Elliot and Jess’ twin brother.

The story tracks the friends as they spiral into a hedonistic lifestyle, before picking up on Elliot’s next partner who also has his own secrets, forcing him to explore whether he is romantically cursed or being targeted.

When is it expected to come out?

The show is expected to come out on Amazon Prime Video in the UK in 2024 with Quay Street owner ITV Studios handling its international distribution outside of the UK and Ireland.

Quay Street Productions is an independent production company set up by award-winning producer Shindler in 2021 to make contemporary, provocative, entertaining, and engaging drama for UK and global audiences.

Based in Manchester, Quay Street Productions' website says it 'puts the writers and talent at the centre of the production process'.

Speaking to Televisual about Dead Hot, Shindler said: “Charlotte Coben is a clever writer and the scripts she has delivered for Dead Hot are outstanding; she’s a natural talent.

"I’m delighted she chose Quay Street Productions for this exciting project. Dead Hot is a unique story with heartbreak, humour, and absurdity, with two magnificent rising stars leading a brilliant cast.

"There are plenty of surprises along the way, and we’re delighted to be bringing this to life.”
