AN ENGINEERING company from Ruthin has been praised by three politicians who paid it a visit last week.

Clwyd West MS, Darren Millar, accompanied by shadow minister for the economy, Paul Davies MS, and shadow minister for rural affairs and the Welsh language, Samuel Kurtz MS, visited Jones Bros, one of the UK’s lead civil engineering companies.

The family firm has a wealth of experience across a broad range of sectors and the Senedd Members were keen to learn more about their latest work and plans for the future.

Mr Millar said: “It was a real pleasure to revisit Jones Bros and to show off this progressive engineering company to my colleagues, Paul and Sam.

“Their energy and renewables, flood and coastal protection work and the construction of waste management facilities has fostered lasting partnerships with a variety of industry leading companies and it was good to hear about their latest projects and work going forward.

“I’m proud to have such a successful company based in my constituency in Clwyd West and I look forward to watching them continue to flourish.”

Mr Kurtz said: “It was great to meet the team at Jones Bros and to learn more about this incredibly successful business.

“I commend the company on their achievements to date and wish them the best of luck with their future plans.”

Mr Davies added: “Jones Bros really do deserve high praise for all that they have done for the local economy.

“I was particularly pleased to learn more about their apprenticeship programmes for plant operators, general construction operatives and higher apprenticeships via a HNC and HND.

“They are providing young people in the area with excellent training opportunities.

“Ruthin is extremely fortunate to have this award-winning engineering company in the town. I wish them the very best with their future endeavours.”
