ST KENTIGERN Hospice in St Asaph has revealed the details for its annual general meeting (AGM) this year.

The hospice’s AGM will this year take place at the Caffi Cariad café at its premises on Upper Denbigh Road.

Starting at 11am on Saturday, October 21, it is open for members of the public to attend.

Its AGM is a chance for the hospice to provide updates to its community about its work.

St. Kentigern Hospice provides specialist palliative care services, completely free of charge, for adults with life-limiting illnesses and their families across North East Wales.

In 2023, the annual hospice running costs will exceed £2.6million, which equates to more than £7,252.37 per day.

Just 28 per cent of this will come from the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, which is only enough funding to support the hospice for 93 days a year.

As a result, the hospice relies heavily on the generosity of the community to raise the additional funding needed for the remaining 272 days of the year.

Its services are delivered through its 12 bed inpatient ward and day therapies such as bereavement support, outpatient clinics, occupational therapy, complimentary therapies, and art and music therapy.
