A BUSY north Wales road has seen its speed limit reduced following safety concerns.
The Welsh Government says it has cut the speed limit on the road between Llangollen and the village of Berwyn to create a 20mph 'buffer'.
The traffic regulation change has been in place since November 10 and has seen the speed limit changed from 60mph to 40mph.
The Welsh Government said: "The introduction of the 40mph speed limit is intended to improve road safety by creating a buffer zone between the length of the A5 trunk road which is currently subject to a 60mph national speed limit and the 20mph speed limit through the town of Llangollen."

A statement added: "The effect of the Order is to introduce a 40 mph speed limit on the length of the A5 trunk road that extends from a point 231 metres east of the centre-point of its junction with the B5103 at Berwyn, west of Llangollen, Denbighshire to a point 1,537 metres east of the centre-point of that junction."
Welsh Government has responsibility for trunk roads like the A55, A5 and A470 while councils are responsible for other highways.
