BELOW is a round-up of all of the criminals whose prison sentencings were covered by the Free Press, Journal, Pioneer or Chronicle in April.
Karl Williams
Williams, 37, of Maes Llewelyn, Aberffraw, Anglesey, assaulted his ex-partner in an attack where he made her "fear for her life".
On February 3, he grabbed her by the throat and strangled her her until she couldn’t breathe.
Dominic Patchett
Patchett, 26, of South Road, Caernarfon, was jailed for domestic abuse towards his partner.
He intentionally strangled and assaulted her while fuelled by alcohol and drugs during the course of their 12-month relationship.
Leonard Munteanu
Munteanu, 25, of no fixed abode, was found in Holyhead after he had been deported from the United Kingdom.
He will be deported from the UK again after he has served his prison sentence.
Craig and Lee Judge
Craig Judge, 39, of Marine Road, Abergele, and Lee Jones, 37, of Alsager, were jailed for their involvement in thefts in Denbighshire and/or Conwy.
Both men had been previously convicted, and it was felt that their offences were so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified.
Rowland Humphreys
Humphreys, 45, of Lombard Street, Dolgellau, led police on a 100mph chase through Porthmadog.
He reversed his white Peugeot van into a police vehicle before speeding off on the A487 on February 10.
Nicola Walker
Walker, 48, of Meredith Crescent, Rhyl, committed eight thefts in the town – seven of which were at the same store – in the space of one month.
She stole items including confectionery, toiletries and an energy drink.
Samantha Phythian
Phythian, 33, of Victoria Avenue, Prestatyn, returned to prison after committing a 14th breach of her criminal behaviour order.
“You need some stability in your life,” a judge told her.
Gareth Druce
Druce, 33, of Church Street, Blaenau Ffestiniog, targeted lone vulnerable females in the Colwyn Bay area.
He was found guilty of rape following his trial at Caernarfon Crown Court in relation to an incident from 2022, having earlier pleaded guilty to a sexual assault.
Gareth and Peter Hughes
Gareth Hughes, 43, of Maes yr Haf; and Peter Hughes, 35, of Cleveland Crescent; carried out an unprovoked attack on a vulnerable man in his own home.
The Holyhead brothers forced their way inside the victim’s home after he opened the door under the misapprehension it was a friend visiting.
Mark Oswell
Oswell, 42, of Clwyd Street, Rhyl, stole a drill from a hotel in Flintshire.
He told police that he “probably left it outside the pub, knowing my luck”.
Jonathan Duggan
Duggan, 42, of Nithbank, Dumfries, Scotland, made fraudulent representations in trying to purchase a property in Gwynedd.
In total, Duggan defrauded three organisations by creating false identities and making false payslips.
Thomas Jones
Jones, 35, of St Mellors Road, Buckley, strangled his then-partner twice and threatened to kill her at her home near Prestatyn.
When she told him she was going to call police, he replied: “What are they going to do? You’ll be dead by the time they get here.”
Roger Steele
Steele, 49, of Washington Street, Kidderminster but formerly of Kinmel Bay, sexually assaulted a girl in Rhyl in the late 2000s.
He had told her to “relax” and that “it’s meant to be nice”.
Mark Roberts
Roberts, 55, of Cwm Howard Lane, Llandudno was behind a “planned” arson attack on a rehabilitation unit in Ruthin.
On July 29, 2022, Roberts threw smoke packets which were taped together through a window of Tan-y-Castell rehabilitation unit.
David Bellis-Moss
Bellis-Moss, 29, of Wood Road, Rhyl, attacked his ex-partner days after he had been bailed following a similar previous incident.
He had told her that “she was his”, and threatened to “chop off the finger of anyone who went near her”.
Luke Roberts
Roberts, 32, of Church Street, Newborough, Anglesey, struck and strangled his then-partner in her home.
The argument had ensued after he accused her of being unfaithful.
Cameron Jennings-Williams
Jennings-Williams, 22, of Hafan Deg, Tanygrisiau, became embroiled in a 15-hour standoff with armed police.
At one point, Jennings-Williams presented a vodka bottle with a rag in it, and said he would light it and that petrol had leaked from within his property.
Nathan Brown
Brown, 26, of Bridge Street, Denbigh, fled the scene after he struck a cyclist while driving without a licence in Prestatyn.
The victim of the incident, Phillip Pike, who died in February, was hit by a vehicle driven by Brown at about 10.30pm on May 26, 2023.
Lee Jones
Jones, 35, of Ffordd Bugail, Colwyn Bay, caused the death of a pensioner from Rhyl by driving dangerously.
He was responsible for the death of Patrick McDonald, who died aged 82 on October 22, 2022.
Martin, 27, of no fixed abode, sexually assaulted a woman in Conwy.
He will be returned to Romania after serving his prison sentence.
