A major local redevelopment scheme is providing new opportunities for staff.

The scheme involves the redevelopment of Ruthin extra care housing scheme Llys Awelon with 21 units, which will expand to feature 25 self-contained apartments.

A recruitment event will take place between 10.30am and 2pm at Hafan Deg in Rhyl on June 19.

Ann Lloyd, head of adult social care and homelessness at Denbighshire County Council, said: “The progress made in Llys Awelon means that there is a great opportunity for people to join our fantastic care team. "The Council are now looking to recruit day and night care and support staff.

"I would urge anyone who has an interest in the field to come along and find out more.”

This event will provide insight into these jobs as well as other care and support opportunities in Denbighshire.

Applicants are also invited to learn directly from Grŵp Cynefin about their soon-to-be-advertised roles at Llys Awelon.

Noela Jones, head of heighbourhoods, Grŵp Cynefin said: “We pride ourselves on the standard of accommodation and care offered at our extra care housing schemes.

"They are caring and welcoming communities for older people, and excellent staff is crucial to this.

"The partnership approach we have with Denbighshire at our extra care housing schemes means that we are able to provide an adaptable and flexible level of care and support to suit an individual’s needs. "We therefore need caring individuals who will make a real contribution and become an integral part of the unique community at Llys Awelon.

"They will compliment Grŵp Cynefin’s excellent team on site, led by Scheme Manager Gwawr Lewis.”
