Denbigh is set to burst into colour this summer.
Floral displays will brighten the town thanks to the efforts of Denbigh in Bloom and funding from the Your Community, Your Choice scheme, which uses money seized from criminals to support community projects.
Lyndsey Tasker, chair of Denbigh in Bloom, said: "Denbigh in Bloom is a lovely group of likeminded local people, coming together with the sole purpose of giving something back to their community.
"On plant-up day it is all about working together and enjoying what we do.
"It's an early start and a busy morning, but we all enjoy each other's company and ensure our town looks blooming lovely all summer long.
"There is nothing better, in our opinion, than seeing people sitting on the benches in the High Street, enjoying the displays and taking note of all the sponsors who make it possible."
The Your Community, Your Choice scheme is supported by the police and crime commissioner (PCC), North Wales Police, and the North Wales Police and Community Trust (PACT).
The funding is partly sourced from money seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act, with the remainder provided by the PCC.
Denbigh in Bloom, formed in January 2016, has grown from a small group of volunteers into a team of around 15 regular members.
Planting for this summer began on June 2 outside the Town Hall in Crown Square.
Volunteers were joined by Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Wayne Jones, PACT’s Dave Evans, and PCSOs Bryn Jones and Peter Jones.
The group planted summer railing baskets and removed winter stock before moving to the Railway Inn area on Ruthin Road to refresh additional planters.
This year, 39 'Pots for Shops' will be delivered to businesses on High Street, Vale Street, and Bridge Street.
The scheme allows businesses to lease a planted pot for £12 over the summer season.
Denbigh in Bloom collects the pots in October when they switch to winter planting.
The group works closely with businesses and has partnered with Graham Pickles of Greenfingers Garden Centre since its inception.
Mr Pickles provides compost and plants for all the group’s displays and has been an active volunteer.
A new watering contractor, Rob Jones, will water the planters weekly throughout the summer.

Mr Jones, deputy PCC said: "I was delighted to visit Denbigh and meet the volunteers from Denbigh in Bloom who do so much to make the town the beautiful and welcoming place it is.
"I was also pleased to lend a hand myself in helping plant some of the summer displays.
"I am always amazed by the dedication of the volunteers we have in communities right across North Wales and the pride they take in caring for their surroundings, and I know this commitment is appreciated by all residents of the area."
Since its launch 12 years ago, Your Community, Your Choice has awarded nearly £660,000 to 214 projects across North Wales.
