A temporary order is set to impose intermittent traffic restrictions on the A494 trunk road between Ewloe Green, Flintshire, and Dolgellau, Gwynedd.
Starting on March 5, 2026, the road will be affected for a maximum of 18 months.
This will include the introduction of varying speed limits as low as 10mph during certain operations, with convoy working prohibiting overtaking.
The 10mph speed limit will only apply during convoy working and overtaking will be prohibited during these times.
Short-term closures are also anticipated for certain sections of the road to accommodate the necessary works.
These will occur at various points along the trunk road but are expected to last only briefly for each segment, thus not requiring any alternative routes.
The changes are being made under an order by the Welsh Ministers pursuant to section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The regulation is considered necessary to carry out work on or near the A494 trunk road.
The affected road stretches from its junction with the A55 at Ewloe Green Interchange, Flintshire, to its junction with the A470 at Dolgellau, Gwynedd.
The temporary restrictions and prohibitions are expected to operate intermittently from 08:00 hours on 5 March 2026 for a maximum period of 18 months.
