MAGIC has been cast in Prestatyn with the opening of a new soft play centre where imaginations can run wild.
Geo-Play, a new soft play centre for babies, toddlers and children, has opened at Prestatyn Business Park on Warren Drive. The centre features a 'Dragon’s Magical Sensory Cave' filled with atmospheric lighting, cosy cushions and fascinating mirrors – all designed to spark wonder and curiosity.
The soft play area is packed with colourful obstacles, slides, tunnels and climbing challenges, while children can also take part in hands-on activities designed to encourage creativity, problem-solving and learning through play.
Mum Lisa Kalafusz, founder of Geo-Play, was inspired by her four-year-old daughter Ziah to create the new space; She noticed Ziah learned more through fun, active play than anything else.
She hopes it becomes a space where differences are celebrated and "those differences can be our superpowers.”
Lisa, who has a partner, Tom Mosley, and son Cleon, said: "I wanted to create something that was more than just soft play somewhere magical and where children can explore, be creative or sensory so 'Every child can play their own way '
"Somewhere where a child can learn without even realising."
Lisa, who describes herself as having 'ADHD traits', is originally from Blaenau Ffestiniog. She has lived in Prestatyn for 12 years.
She said it was important to her to create somewhere parents can feel comfortable.
She said: "As a mum, I know how important it is to have somewhere you can relax, feel welcome and not feel judged while your child can simply be themselves."
Lisa has brought the local area into the space with features like the lighthouse and the cave. She wanted children to recognise things around them and learn about the area they're growing up in through fun and imagination.
She said the name Geo-Play is a nod to this and captures the geography, history and landmarks of Prestatyn, as well as the surrounding North Wales coastline.
Lisa added: "I think growing up in Blaenau Ffestiniog helped make me the passionate Welsh woman I am today.
"Having ADHD traits myself, I've always tried to see the positives in our differences. I think it's amazing what can happen when you follow your dreams, use your imagination and believe in your ideas.
"This business is a proof of that for me.
"I've always had a busy and imaginative mind and have learnt to be positive in thinking differently.
Lisa thanked her partner Tom for believing in her vision "from the beginning" and investing in her idea.
"I'm so grateful," Lisa said.
"And to my son for helping watch his little sister, and my family and friends for their support too. I couldn't of done it without them all.
"I also want to thank all workers for make my dream become reality. I couldn't of had better and it is amazing to see my vision come to life, from the magical sensory cave to the kitchen and the little details in-between.
"I am really passionate about it. Ideas that were once just in my imagination have become real. It has been incredible.
"I want this place to be a place where we can celebrate our differences and that we all learn and experience the world differently, and those differences can be our superpowers.

Geo-Play is suitable for babies and children up to 9 years of age. During term time (Monday to Friday) 0-5 months are free; 6-11 months £2; 1-3 years £5 and 4-8 years £6.50. Adults free.
Weekend, bank holidays and school holidays: 0-5 months are free; 6-11 months £2.50; 1-3 years £5.50 and 4-8 years £7. Adults free.
