TWO officials have been given awards after taking charge of more than 1,000 games between them.
Llandyrnog and District Summer League men in black Derek Hughes and Clwyd Roberts both picked up awards last Friday evening for refereeing more than 500 matches apiece.
The presentations were made at the conclusion of the final of the Tony Evans Memorial Shield.
Hughes said: “I started when I was 18 and I’m 68 now.
“I have missed three seasons and two half-seasons.
“My aim is to finish when I am 70.
“I have had some exciting years and I was the refereeing secretary for a long time. I have thoroughly enjoyed every year I have done.”
