Due to rain, the match was reduced to 42 overs per side.

Batting first after they won the toss, Marchwiel Wrexham did enjoy a solid start to their innings.

Openers Michael Forgrave (12) and Jerry Wellens (10) got decent starts, while number three batsman Sam Shoemark top scored for the visitors with 52.

Henry Probin struck 27, however the ball was mightier than the bat during the early portion of the afternoon and Ruthin did well to restrict their visitors to 140-9.

Sion Hughes was the pick of the Ruthin attack and he claimed 3-33 from eight overs.

Also among the wickets for the home side were Llyr Williams (2-21), Sandeep Anantharaman (2-21) and Matthew Duckworth (2-36).
