A TALENTED youngster has been picked to represent Wales.

Charlie Caton, the son of Bala Town FC manager Colin, has been selected to attend the forthcoming Welsh Schools FA training camp.

Caton turned 16 just last month, but he will be joining up with the U-18 training camp in Cardiff during the middle of the month.

The Ysgol Brynhyfryd pupil has been a member of the Wrexham Academy since the age of seven years and he has been attracting interest from Football League club Shrewsbury Town.

A player with Wrexham U-16s this season, Caton was a key member of Llangynhafal's Summer League squad earlier this year.

He finished up as the team's top scorer with 12 goals.

The WSFA training camp will run in Cardiff between December 17 and 19.

Looking further ahead, the Wales Colleges and Schools U-18 squad will be heading off to Italy in February.

The final squad of 20 players will be picked just before Christmas.

The Roma Caput Mundi Tournament, which will run between February 16 and 22, is a prestigious competition involving international sides from all over Europe.
