TEAM boss Colin Caton was pleased to strengthen his Bala Town squad before the closure of the transfer window.

The Lakesiders have been bolstered by the acquisition of defender Shaun Kelly, midfielder Anthony Stephens and striker Josh Williams.

"We chased Anthony Stephens and Josh Williams we have chased for a while," said Caton this week.

"Shaun Kelly was a lucky one as he came to us.

"We needed to strengthen because we went to Haverfordwest in the Welsh Cup with Steve Fisher and Ryan Valentine on the bench.

"Steve is 46 and Ryan is in his late 30s.

"We were down to the bare bones and we did need to bring players in.

"It's given us a buzz in training."

Two of the three will be available for Bala's trip to Barry Town United on Saturday, which is to be screened live on S4C's Sgorio show.

"I think our record on TV is normally good and hopefully we can keep that going," added Caton.

Rob Pearson is out with an ankle injury, while Stuart Jones is a doubt for Bala this weekend.

Anthony Stephens and Shaun Kelly will both be added to the squad, but new acquisition Josh Williams will be out through suspension.
