LLANNEFYDD 5

MOCHDRE SPORTS 1

A FOUR-MIDABLE showing from Sam Jones helped to make it a terrific weekend in league action for Llannefydd.

Jones was in scintillating form as Llan romped to a 5-1 margin of victory in their home Lock Stock Welsh Alliance League Division Two encounter at home to Mochdre Sports.

With eight games left to play, a top-two finish in the standings is not beyond the villagers.

Just eight minutes had elapsed when Llannefydd got their noses in front.

Sam Jones was the player on the scoresheet and the same player them doubled the advantage two minutes later.

It was effectively game over a minute into the second half when Jones completed his hat-trick.

Llan didn't rest on their laurels and they went further clear in the 55th minute when skipper Elgan Roberts netted from the penalty spot.

Jones wasn't yet finished and he grabbed his fourth goal in the 78th minute.

The final word went the way of Mochdre Sports, with Kai Davies grabbing a late consolation.
