BETHESDA 12
BALA 25
THE form team in North Wales will only finish fifth in the WRU League Division One (North) standings.
Winning just one of their opening eight matches cost Bala the opportunity to challenge for the title this season.
However, since their narrow loss at championship favourites Llandudno on November 10, the men from Maes Gwyniad have been in quite scintillating form.
Saturday's 25-12 win at Gwynedd rivals Bethesda was the 12th league win on the bounce for Bala.
However, despite this amazing run of results, Bala will finish the season in fifth spot in the Division One (North) table.
Hooker Endaf Jones crossed for a brace of tries at Bethesda, with full back Miall Roberts also crossing the whitewash for the visitors.
Owain Aled contributed 10 points to the victory, courtesy of two penalties and a pair of conversions.
Bala just missed out on a try bonus point and a positive aspect of their success was young prop Meilir Jones making his first start for the first team.
Although they have completed their league programme, there is still plenty for Bala to play for this season.
Bala will travel to Nant Conwy on April 13 in the semi-finals of the North Wales Cup.
