SOMETHING had to give during a key clash between Mold 2nds and St Asaph 2nds.
Both sides were boasting unbeaten records ahead of the top-of-the-table North Wales Cricket League Division Three match, but it was the Saints who were the happier of the two sides at the conclusion.
An amazing display from David North set St Asaph on their way to victory.
North finished with unbelievable figures of 10-7-7-5 as Mold were bowled out for 106.
Richard Aram (4-18) and Amer Jamil (1-23) also impressed with the ball, while George Jones (52) was Mold's top scorer.
In reply, St Asaph eased to a winning 107-2.
Richard Aram (43 not out), Joe Lunn (21), Dominic Haynes (19) and David North (19 not out) were in good form with the bat.
Denbigh 2nds remain on course for a top-four finish on the back of their 50-run win at home to Hawarden Park 2nds.
Danny Hopkins hit an unbeaten 58 as Denbigh set 181-7 batting first.
Gethin Williams (24), Pete Lloyd (21), Chris Brown (16), Mark Mercer (12) and Keiran Lucas (12) also contributed important runs.
Lucas then claimed 4-26 as Hawarden Park were bowled out for 131 in reply.
James Thomas (2-26) and Gethin Williams (2-28) in win number six this season for Denbigh.
