CLAWDDNEWYDD 0
CAERWYS 2
WHILE the destination of the league championship had already been decided, there was still a big battle to finish off the foot of the standings.
Entering the final week of the campaign, it was Caerwys who were in last position.
However, Monday's win over Llandyrnog saw the Flintshire side climb above Clawddnewydd.
Caerwys only needed a point at Clawdd on Thursday to make sure they finished off the foot of the standings, but as things eventually turned out, they would pick up all three points that were on offer.
Elliot Davies supplied the visitors with their opening goal, while a fine long range strike by Jac Glover gave Caerwys some breathing space.
At the other end, impressive keeper Lewys Thompson saved a penalty to make sure of his first clean sheet of the campaign.
