ST HELENS TOWN 1
RUTHIN TOWN 3
A TRIP over the border resulted in a fine Ruthin Town success on Saturday.
Chris Williams' charges continued their preparations ahead of the new campaign with a trip to North West Counties League Division One (North) outfit St Helens Town.
A pair of early goals helped Ruthin on their way to an impressive 3-1 success.
The visitors opened their account in only the fourth minute, with Matty Evans scoring from the penalty spot.
Things got even better for Ruthin in the 12th minute as Dan Cox found the target with a brilliant effort from all of 30 yards.
It was game over when the away Town bagged their third goal midway through the second half.
Osian Davies was the player on target on this occasion.
Although victory hopes had evaporated, the final word belonged to St Helens with their 88th minute consolation goal.
