A week after suffering their first defeat of 2019, St Asaph 2nds returned to winning ways in Division One of the North Wales Cricket League during their home encounter with Buckley 2nds.

Batting first, Buckley found themselves being bowled out for 103 in the 40th over.

Doing the damage with the ball were John Lloyd-Williams (2-7), Elliot Morris (2-21), Charlie Williams (2-22), Joe Lunn (1-9) and Amer Jamil (1-13).

In reply, St Asaph eased to a winning 107-1 in 17.2 overs.

Ben Murphy (54 not out) and Joe Lunn (34) helped the Saints to a 14-1 points win.

St Asaph now lead the division, eight points clear of Abergele 2nds.

Denbigh 2nds' slender Division Three title hopes remain just about alive courtesy of their five-wicket win at Hawarden Park 2nds.

James Thomas and Simon Williams were in terrific form with the ball as the hosts were bowled out for just 68.

Thomas finished with 3-16 and Williams claimed a miserly 3-7 in 5.3 overs.

Other wickets went the way of David Schrimshaw (2-20), Ian Hall (1-4) and Matthew Davies (1-6).

It was not plain sailing for Denbigh in their reply, but they did reach a winning 70-5 in the 27th over.

Chris Brown (26) and Ian Hall (10 not out) were the leading scorers.

In Division Four, Rhewl lost out in their home clash with Llanrwst 2nds.

Aled Edwards (3-7), Dafydd Williams (2-19) and Steffan Lloyd (2-36) saw Llanrwst being dismissed for 142.

Rhewl were all out for 76 in their response.

Ruthin 2nds were beaten by seven wickets in their home encounter versus title chasers Caernarfon.

Robert Williams was the star performer as Ruthin were 103 all out batting first.

Caernarfon replied with 108-3 (Olly Gray 1-10, Osian Roberts 1-16, Venkat Sundaram 1-36).
