LLANNEFYDD 2
PENTRAETH 0
THE battle for this season's Lock Stock Welsh Alliance League Division Two crown is turning out to be a cracker.
As things stand, seven clubs harbour genuine hopes of claiming the title and included in these ranks are Llannefydd.
The villagers strengthened their championship aims over the weekend by securing a 2-0 home win in their clash against basement side Pentraeth.
A goal in each half did the trick to secure Llan's eighth league triumph of the season.
It was Brad Jones who broke the deadlock after half-an-hour, while victory was effectively secured when Luke Appleby made it 2-0 after 62 minutes.
Llannefydd's man of the match was Elgan Roberts.
As things stand, Llannefydd trail frontrunners Penmaenmawr by 11 points, although they do have four games in hand over the leaders.
