THE Denbigh Town stars of the 2019/20 campaign have been given deserved awards following the club's virtual presentation night.

The club recently used Zoom to host a get together, with manager Dewi Llion naming the award winners.

The club was on a roll before the season came to an abrupt end, and eventually finished second in Welsh Alliance One, behind champions Holyhead Hotspur.

During the Zoom meeting, star striker Jacob Walker was awarded the Top Scorer prize for the 39 goals he scored this season and was also given the Manager's Player of the Season accolade.

Walker really found form last season and once he hit that brace of goals in the first league game against Mynydd Llandegai his tail was up and he consistently found the net in league and cup games.

The forward finished joint league top scorer and recorded more goals from open play than any other player in the division.

Denbigh Town's Player's Player of the Season for 2019/20 was Paul Fleming.

The 33 year old signed for Town at the beginning of October after moving over from St Asaph. He made his debut at Penrhyndeudraeth away from home in a Cup game and it was immediately apparent that he was just what the team needed bringing that calm experience to the middle of the park.

The Young Player of the Season prize was given to Sion Jones. The versatile player, who can play in defence and midfield, may have only just turned 19, but went on to establish himself as the regular starting right back in the team.

The Denbigh Development side also held their virtual presentation evening recently with Joel Rowlands (Top Scorer), Rob Lawson (Manager's Player) and Aled Douglas (Player's Player) chosen for their respective awards.
