BALA TOWN have announced Liam Davies as their seventh new signing of the 2020/21 JD Cymru Premier season.

The 24-year-old, who resides in Merseyside, is the older brother of Everton midfielder, Tom Davies, 22.

Liam, also a midfielder, signs for the Lakesiders from National League North side Curzon Ashton, who he made 21 appearances for last season.

He has also played for Marine FC on loan, as well as Chester and Southport, having graduated from Tranmere Academy in 2013.

Davies made his debut for the club when he replaced Lassana Mendes in the 73rd minute of Bala's 2-2 draw with TNS on September 30, which was abandoned in the 87th minute due to floodlight failure.

Talking about his new signing, Bala manager Colin Caton said: "It’s great to have him on board, he’s played at a good level, he’ll add to our midfield power with us having one or two injuries at the moment.

"He can play in a number of positions, he’s a utility player that can play across the front, left footed, right footed player, and he can play anywhere in the midfield as well, he can also do a job at fullback for us.

"So he’s a modern day utility player, he’s got good quality, and good delivery on set plays, so we’ll be looking forward to him fighting for a place like the rest of the squad."

The signing of Davies follows on from Bala also securing the signatures of Alex Ramsay (Caernarfon Town), Antony Kay (Chorley), Nathan Peate (Cefn Druids), Will Evans (Cardiff Met), Llyr Morris (Ruthin Town) and Raul Correia (Southport).
