BOTH Bala Town and Ruthin Town completed one signing each on transfer deadline day.

Despite the season being put on hold at all levels of Welsh football recently due to Covid-19 guidelines, clubs across the country were busy getting some last minute deals done throughout Monday.

Bala Town, who currently sit in the JD Cymru Premier table during its suspension, announced the arrival of Jack Mackreth to Maes Tegid subject to international clearance.

The 28-year-old signs for Colin Caton's side having departed Northern Premier League Premier Division side Warrington Town.

Mackreth started his career at Tranmere Rovers, where we would sign his first professional contract in 2010.

However after featuring on the bench on only four occasions, he would leave the club he’d been with since the age of 13.

The forward has gone on to make more than 250 league appearances for clubs such as Barrow AFC, Macclesfield Town, Grimsby Town and Wrexham AFC, before a return to his boyhood club followed in 2016 - despite featuring just eight times in his short spell back.

The majority of his playing time has been in the National League, but he did also make a couple of appearances in League One with Bury FC in 2017.

Bala Town say confirmation of the player's shirt number will be revealed in the near future.

Over at Ruthin Town, they have completed the loan signing of defender Harry Owen.

The JD Cymru North (tier two) outfit have signed the player on loan from last season's top-flight champions Connah's Quay Nomads for the remainder of the season - should it resume in future.

Club officials say they 'can't wait' to see Owen 'develop his already great attributes'.

Another notable transfer made on Monday's deadline day saw Flint Town United defender Nathan Craig move back to former club Caernarfon Town.

The former Everton and Torquay player previously made more than 200 appearances for the Cofis and is a much-loved figure at the Oval.
