VETERAN forward Michael Wilde moved up to third in the all-time top scorers list in Wales' top-flight as his hat-trick helped Flint Town United on To victory against Cefn Druids.

The Silkmen made it two wins from two and moved to the top of the JD Cymru Premier table with a 4-0 win over the Ancients at the Essity Stadium on Saturday.

Following a brace on his debut in the 5-1 crushing of Cardiff Met a week earlier, Wilde hit three goals against Druids to put him on 211 goals for his career in the Welsh top-flight.

The 37-year-old is now topped by only current Penybont manager Rhys Griffiths (271 goals) and Marc Williams (319) on the top scorer list for the JD Cymru Premier.

The former TNS and Connah's Quay forwards hat-trick v Cefn Druids moved him above Lee Hunt's tally of 209.

At 37, he's still very much going strong and was the league's Player of the Season after scoring 18 goals for champions Connah's Quay last season.

Jack Kenny opened the scoring for Flint moments after Druids were reduced to ten men with just 20 minutes gone in the tie.

The Silkmen are sitting pretty at the top of the table for now on goal difference having won both of their matches to date.

Elsewhere on matchday two, second place The New Saints (TNS) beat Caernarfon Town 5-3 in an absolute thriller at Park Hall.

Daniel Davies put TNS ahead before Danny Gosset's wonder goal levelled proceedings 18mins into the tie.

Declan McManus (23') and Louis Bradford (29') then gave TNS a two-goal cushion before Darren Thomas made it 3-2 on 67mins. But it was still far from over.

Defender Blaine Hudson restored the home side's two-goal lead six minutes later before the Cofis again replied with five minutes to go through Gwion Dafydd.

Ash Baker's goal in stoppage time ensured a hard-fought win for the Saints who have now won their opening two matches of the 21/22 campaign.

Champions Connah's Quay also maintained a 100% start to the season with a tense 1-0 victory at home to Aberystwyth Town. Craig Curran's strike on the half-hour mark was the only difference in that one.

The rest of the scorelines in the league ended in draws.

Newtown came away with a point from Penybont following a 1-1 draw. Sam Snaith had put the home side ahead after 15mins but Aaron Williams levelled before half time.

Gavin Chesterfield's Barry Town United played out a 0-0 draw at home to Colin Caton's Bala Town and the same scoreline took place in the match between Haverfordwest County and Cardiff Met.
