DENBIGH Harrier Victoria Whitehead was feeling tired with sore legs after completing her first ultra marathon on Saturday.

Over in Yorkshire, she competed in the Punk Panther challenge.

This event covered 29.33 miles along the Nidderdale Way.

There was a dark start at 7am with everyone wearing head torches, but once it became light the views could be truly appreciated.

The route competitors took crossed lots of muddy fields, paths along the river Nidd and required navigation which was tricky in places, causing a few wrong turns.

This ultra marathon came only four weeks after Victoria’s first trail marathon, but she still managed to finish in a fantastic six hours, 33 minutes and 42 seconds.

A little less taxing, but just as energetic, there was a good turnout again in the North Wales Cross Country League.

The venue this time was at Treborth, Bangor, with the event being hosted by Eryri Harriers.

Denbigh Harriers' junior team made their debut at the cross-country event, with everyone enjoying the experience.

Meanwhile, the women’s team held onto their third overall position in Division One, with the over-65s men’s team also able to hold on to third.

A really good turnout in the men’s team saw strong performances, meaning they were the fifth team on the day, however they stay in seventh position overall in Division One.

Three Denbigh Harriers travelled to Liverpool to run the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon on Sunday.

Starting at the Royal Albert Dock, the course took in the vibrant city centre, including some of the city’s most iconic buildings, music, sporting and cultural landmarks.

Rebekah Dumayne achieved a personal best, finishing in two hours, 22 minutes and 50 seconds.

Clubmate Helen Davies had a strong run on the day and she crossed the finishing line in a time of 2-14.24.

With a fantastic effort, Abi Corfe finished in under two hours, courtesy of her time of 1-58.02.

Denbigh Harriers' parkrun results:

Town Moor: 135, Mike Hobday 24.13.

Nova Prestatyn: 22, Bob Neale 25.40; 23, Sian Pritchard 25.42; 96, John Llewelyn Jones 49.08.
