THERE was a big turnout of 19 Denbigh Harriers at the Abergele 5k race on Sunday.

Harriers weren't just there to compete, though, and the green-vested racers claimed a huge haul of medals on what was a flat out and back course, with a very gentle breeze for the return run.

There were five North Wales 5k champions from the club, namely Daniel Jones (Vet 35), Emma Collins (Vet 55), Vic Belshaw (Vet 60), Sara Leverett (Vet 50) and Menai Baugh (Vet 60).

Meanwhile, there were also numerous personal bests posted by those who took part.

Tony Wood was the third senior, while David Baugh crossed the line runner-up in the Vet 60 category.

Second in the Vet 45 section was Melina Morris, with Elen Baugh completing the course as the third senior woman.

Adding to the Harriers' success, Fred Jones finished third in the Vet 65 section, Bob Neale was third in the Vet 70 class and Angela Beedles secured third spot in her Vet 60 age category.
