IT really was a green tide at a recent event!

There was a brilliant turnout and fantastic performances by 21 senior Denbigh Harriers and 10 junior Harriers at the last North Wales League Cross Country race held in Wrexham.

A number of North Wales Cross Country medals were won as it was also a North Wales Cross Country Championship race.

The senior Harriers' ladies' team finished a great season second overall in Division One, and the third team in the North Wales Championships, with the women’s masters team finishing second in the North Wales championships.

The senior men also had a fantastic season to finish seventh in Division One and they were the second team on the day in the North Wales Championships. There were impressive overall season individual league results too: 2nd SW, Katy Baugh; 1st F55, Emma Collins; 3rd F60, Menai Baugh; 3rd SM, Shaun Hughes; 2nd M35, Daniel Jones; 2nd M70, Jeff Jones.

There were also individual medals won on the day in the North Wales Championships: 2nd SW, Eleanor Ashcroft; 2nd F45, Mel Morris; 1st F55, Emma Collins; 3rd F60, Menai Baugh; 2nd SM, Shaun Hughes; 3rd M35, Daniel Jones; 3rd M70, Jeff Jones.

The popular Always Aim High Anglesey Half Marathon was also a North Wales Half Marathon Championship race.

Denbigh Harriers Alaw Medi and Hayley Parkes both took home North Wales Championships medals.

Alaw Medi finished 278th in 1-51.47 and she won the third SW medal in the championships, while Hayley Parks (337th in 1-56.24) won the second F40 medal in the championships.

Harriers Tony Wood and Sioned Griffiths got the opportunity to represent North Wales at the UK Inter Counties Cross Country Championships at Prestwold Hall, Loughborough.

The senior women's course was two laps, a total of just over five miles, with Sioned finishing 266th in 45.19.

The men’s 10k course was just over two laps with Tony 279th in 43.02.

This was a competition at the highest level, and was a great experience for both.

It was a late start for Harrier Rhian Elizabeth Griffiths-Jones at the Out-fit Llyn Brenig 'Day 2 Night' race.

This was an unusual opportunity to take on a 9.5-mile lakeside run starting at dusk with slightly fading light, and soon switching head torches on as darkness set in.

Rhian competed with her dog Bryn in the canicross event, finishing fourth overall in a great time of 1-16.04.

Catherine Tudor Jones achieved a personal best at the MBNA Chester 10k.

She finished 186th overall in a brilliant 43.27.
