THREE members of Denbigh Harriers travelled to Llangollen to run the Llantysilio Fell Race in glorious sunshine on Saturday.

Set in the picturesque Dee Valley, the race is just over six miles / 9.9km in length with 2,100 feet/640m of ascent.

It follows a route up Moel Morfudd and Moel y Gaer on the Llantysilio Mountain ridge with a final climb up to the highest point, which is Moel y Gamlin at 1,893 feet/577m.

From the summit, there is a fast descent back to the village.

Daniel Jones was the first Harrier home, fifth overall out of a field of 66 runners, in an excellent time of one hour and 34 seconds.

Mike Hobday was 43rd in one hour, 23 minutes and 24 seconds, with Menai Baugh 55th in one hour, 32 minutes and 53 seconds.

Denbigh Harrier Sian Pritchard ran the Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon on Sunday on what was another lovely sunny morning.

It covered a flat and picturesque course which starts and finishes inside Hampton Court Palace.

Sian had a fantastic run, topped off with a personal best by 12 minutes, finishing 1,231st in 1-59.34 (chip time 1-54.18).
