SATURDAY was a beautiful day in Llanuwchllyn for Ras Yr Aran.

A magnificent seven Denbigh Harriers made the journey to take on this tough fell race.

The route was a 10-mile out-and-back up Aran Benllyn and Aran Fawddwy and was the last race in the Meirionnydd winter fell series.

Daniel Jones was the first Harrier home, finishing 13th in 1-42.59.

Next was Tony Wood in 1-50.37 (21st), followed by Brett Jones in 1-53.38 (27th), Katy Baugh in 2-09.24 (58th), Melina Morris in 2-13.12 (61st) and Mike Hobday in 2-34.11 (82nd).

Menai Baugh finished as the first F60 in 2-41.19 for 93rd overall and Melina Morris - or Mel the Fell - won the first female prize in the Meirionnydd winter fell series, which was a fantastic result.

Seven Harriers also made the trip down to the capital for the popular Cardiff University Half Marathon on Sunday.

First to cross the finishing line was Hywel Roberts in 2-18.15 (2,973rd, chip time 1:55:51), followed by Ian Jones in 2-31.44 (5,060th, chip time 2:03:35). Rhian Wyn Jones clocked 2-53.05 for 7,744th (chip time 2-15.42), with Mike James (2-46.14) in 6,927th (chip time 2-18.04) and Julie Roberts 7,055th in 2-47.23 (chip time 2-19.13).

In 10,484th was Jessica Jones in 3-24.00 (chip time 2-45.17) and John Llewelyn Thomas crossed the line 11,432nd in 3-57.08 (chip time 3-23.01).
