WHAT a week it turned out to be for Will Evans.

After scoring twice in Wales C's brilliant 4-0 thrashing of England C in midweek, Evans maintained his purple patch with a hat-trick in Bala Town's 5-0 Cymru Premier League hammering of hosts Penybont.

It was the ideal revenge for Colin Caton's side, who suffered penalty shootout heartbreak just a few weeks earlier in losing their Welsh Cup semi-final contest versus Penybont.

Rhys Griffiths' outfit were put to the sword on this occasion and a stunning strike from Evans had Bala a goal to the good after 22 minutes.

Evans beat a defender before drilling a quality effort into the bottom corner of the net.

Just a minute later and Evans had his second goal.

Penybont looked to respond via Sam Snaith's header, but this was superbly saved by Alex Ramsay to maintain Bala's two-goal cushion.

This advantage was three goals after half-an-hour as Chris Venables got his name on the scoresheet.

Bala continued to dominate and that man Evans wasn't finished just yet.

Following a handball offence in the Penybont box, the Lakesiders were awarded a spot kick and Evans stepped up to complete a brilliant hat-trick.

Evans was soon looking for his fourth, but he was denied by former Lakesider Ashley Morris, who was also called into action to repel Ollie Shannon's effort.

One further goal would be witnessed and it came in the 90th minute.

A minute after he had a shot cleared off the line, Dean Ebbe found the back of the net to put the gloss on an astonishing afternoon.

This was the 12th league win this season for Bala, who remain second in the Cymru Premier League's Championship Conference, two points ahead of third-placed Newtown.
