THERE'S another ace in the pack at Denbigh Golf Club!

It's been a fair old wait for Peter Wharton to record his first ever hole-in-one.

Peter had to wait 70 years to gain his reward after starting to play as a six-year-old in a junior school in Birmingham.

He was indeed a delighted competitor with his ace at the 14th and, who knows, the next one may come a little sooner!

It was a close competition as members turned out on Saturday for the PGA National Pro-Am qualifier.

Neil Wynne's haul of 41 points gave him the victors, a single point ahead of Kimi Evans and Emlyn Pierce, who won the silver and bronze divisions respectively.

Gareth Joyce (38 points) was the silver section runner-up, with Paul Smith (37 points) second in the bronze division.
