THEY'RE arrowing into the summer in the Vale of Clwyd.

The Denbigh & District Darts League has started its first summer campaign for a few years.

Potential challengers Wings A gave promoted Railway B a rude awakening as they handed out a 9-0 thrashing with the loss of just one leg on the evening.

Wings veteran Danny Tinney posted a fine 19-dart leg with a 114 checkout, and whilst the Railway B were under the cosh for large parts of the evening the home side were able to register the only 180 of the night courtesy of Bryan Lewis.

The newly formed Britannia recorded a fabulous opening home victory, humbling the reformed Golden Lion B.

County ace Dave Davies captained the Brit to the win as he partnered Stuart Butler to a doubles point to secure the 5-4 result.

Davies and Bradley Roberts hit maximums for the Brit, whilst Pete Martin helped himself to a fine 118 checkout and a superb 15-dart leg partnering Paul Jones in a doubles match.

Elsewhere, reigning winter league champions The Masons Inn registered a 6-3 away win at Golden Lion A.
